Paws 48 LLC is Phoenix, Arizona’s first indoor doggie playground!!

When the pandemic struck, like many others, I decided to adopt furry companions since I was working from home. Living in a condo in Downtown Phoenix, I quickly realized that walking them in the summer heat was challenging. The nearby dog parks posed problems: some were unsanitary, others dangerous, and some were shut down for extended periods due to maintenance.

 

In an attempt to provide my dogs with social interaction and stimulation, I enrolled them in daycare. However, the experience was less than ideal. The daycare was expensive, overcrowded, and offered limited activities for the dogs.

 

Unfortunately, the overcrowding led to a distressing incident: my youngest pup was attacked. The staff couldn’t pinpoint the exact cause. The resulting vet bill was hefty, prompting me to withdraw my dogs from daycare.

 

Back at home, my high-energy dogs became bored and destructive. With the need to return to work, I faced the dilemma of leaving them alone for 10-plus hours. When my dogs ripped up my couch, I realized there had to be a safer solution to help them burn energy.

 

And so, the idea of creating an indoor dog playground was born! 🐾
